We've been evaluating, well more like researching and pulling our hair out, which new software packages we will be migrating to in the near future. We're working with some old hat PM programs and have been in dire need of upgrading for the longest time. I can't believe how many choices there are these days.

Obviously we're looking at feature sets, complete suite offerings, expandability, learning curves - but so many fall into these categories it's tough. You could always go with the good 'ol industry standards but I'm trying to look beyond that in case there are some hidden gem PM programs out there.

How do you/your company evaluate new upgrades/software packages?

Enterprise PM Software:  http://www3.ca.com/Files/IndustryAnalystReports/magic_quadrant_ppm.pdf

Hope this helps!

I guess the recent trends in PM lead to versatility of functions.
That's why a new PM tool was developed and marketed lately: MindDecider
It combines powerful decision making part + project management tools + mind mapping options.
